Santa's Suit is Ready!

Hello stampers,
Happy Tuesday, it's cloudy & a bit dreary here today so I'm hoping to get a few things done, like Christmas cards perhaps. I've been saying that for weeks now, but I'm a procrastinator to the core. I have all these Christmas stamps, some that have never even been used, that I am trying to come up with ideas for & spending most of my time on Pinterest instead of actually stamping. Pinterest is so, so BAD!
Today's card is another from Kerri's last class & it uses one of the few sets that I didn't get from the Holiday Catalog, Get Your Santa On.
For the card base we used Crumb Cake Card Stock & embossed it with the Lucky Stars TIEF that is in the Holiday Catalog. I made a bit of a boo-boo embossing to the card edge, so both sides of the card are actually embossed & I actually like the look, something unexpected for the card receiver. The next 3 layers are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green & Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the 4th layer we used Whisper White, stamping first the banner in Garden Green Ink, then stamping the Santa suit in Basic Black. We used a scrap piece to stamp the Santa hat it & fussy cut it out. The suit & hat were colored in using Cherry Cobbler, with the suit having the extra colors of Crumb Cake (hanger) & Basic Black, then on the "fur" part we used Dazzling Details. We then stamped the words from the set onto Cherry Cobbler & fussy cut to make the banner. The Santa hat was attached using a Stampin' Dimensional. Main Tip: Do not put the Dazzling Details on until you have assembled the card!!!! I really don't know what has been with me, but I definitely have not been thinking before I do stuff when it comes to my cardmaking, at least what I've done lately it seems to work itself out!

~Enjoy
