Submarine Life - Floating By To Say Hi

Hello stampers,

I had to make a card that reminded me of going to Disneyland with the Submarine Life Bundle. It's a fun set & I'm happy it's in the new catalog so I can try to get a few cards made with it.

I started this card with a Basic White Cardstock layer & went to town with lots of ink colors: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Azure Afternoon, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel, Boho Blue, Crumb Cake & new In Color Peach Pie. I used Basic White Cardstock with Daffodil Delight Ink for the submarine & the sentiment which was then punched out using the retiring Cloud Punch, then both were popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals before adding to the card. The focal point was then layered onto a Daffodil Delight Cardstock layer & to a Basic White Cardstock base.

Paper Measurements-

  • Basic WhiteCardstock:
    • Base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
    • Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock:
    • Layer - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Enduring Beauty - Love Never Gives Up

Hello stampers,

Today's card features a few sneak peeks that will be coming in a little over a week, oh my I can't believe it is that time already.

So the 1st sneak peek, although you don't get to see it much of it on the card, we have a new basic color, Basic Beige. Oh, this might be a new favorite color, it will come in cardstock & ink. I think it will be a great color for the no line stamping technique. I used almost a full sheet of cardstock to make this unusual gate card. I stamped the floral stamp from Enduring Beauty Stamp Set onto Basic White Cardstock with Basic Beige Ink. I colored it in using the Enduring Beauty Masks with Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green & Old Olive Inks using a few Blending Brushes. For the 2nd sneak peek, I used a new sentiment stamp set called Unbounded Love with Basic Beige Ink (this set also comes in a bundle.) I backed the focal point with Daffodil Delight Cardstock before attaching it to the front of the card. Next, I added a few panels of Brights DSP to both sides of the gate fold, then added my inside sentiment using the Perennial Postage Stamp Set with Basic Beige Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Lastly, I added a few Shiny Sequins to finish off the card.

Paper Measurements-

  • Basic Beige Cardstock:
    • Base - 8 1/2 x 11
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock:
    • Layer - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  • Basic White Cardstock:
    • Layer - 4 x 5 1/4 (2)
  • Brights DSP:
    • Layer - 2 x 5 3/8

Every Day Details - Friendship

Hello stampers,

Today's card was made for a pre-challenge for Creativate Spring. The challenge was to create a background using scoring lines. I have seen the look & liked it but darn if I can remember to do it on a card.

I started with Basic White Cardstock scoring 1/4" on each side, then used a stamp from the Everyday Details Stamp Set with Misty Moonlight Ink to stamp in the center of the scored lines. Next, I used a sentiment from Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set with Misty Moonlight Ink & then used a retired 1 3/8" Circle Punch to punch it out. I used Misty Moonlight Cardstock for the base of the card followed by a layer of Countryside Inn DSP, before adding the focal point. For the sentiment, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up before attaching to the card. Lastly, I used Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to color a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

Paper Measurements-

  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock:
    • Base - 4 1/4 x 11
  • Basic White Cardstock:
    • Layer - 2 1/2 x 4
  • Countryside Inn DSP:
    • Layer - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Stamp Review Crew - Enduring Beauty

Hello stampers,

It's the 1st Monday of the month & that brings another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who share different ideas made with the featured stamp set. This week that stamp set is Enduring Beauty.

My intent was to make a card using the Sepia Watercolor technique, however, using Pecan Pie Ink just wasn't working for me but I still tried to salvage it. However, the end result reminds me more of a Faux Leather, with the texture of the Watercolor Paper. So I started the card with Watercolor Paper, Water Painters & Pecan Pie Ink, & then I tried to add a bit of Crushed Curry Ink, which again didn't work out, so I just tried adding more Pecan Pie Ink, then used the Heat Tool to dry it then used a Blending Brush with Pecan Pie Ink to go around the edges. I then used Early Espresso Ink with the bouquet in Enduring Beauty Stamp Set to stamp directly onto the background. I used the same technique for the sentiment which was then backed with Early Espresso Cardstock. The focal image was backed with Early Espresso & Very Vanilla Cardstock layers which was then added to a Pecan Pie Cardstock base. I used some retired Neutral Dots (Early Espresso) to finish the card.

Paper Measurements-

  • Pecan Pie Cardstock:
    • Base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock:
    • Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
  • Early Espresso Cardstock:
    • Layer - 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • Watercolor Paper:
    • Layer - 3 3/4 x 5
