Season Like Christmas

Hello stampers,
     For today's card, I used the Season Like Christmas Stamp Set. I started with Whisper White Card Stock followed by a layer of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the stamped image, I used Whisper White Card Stock to stamp the trees using Pear Pizazz, Garden Green & Early Espresso Ink. Stamping the middle tree, then stamping the left, then right tree before I reinked. For the middle tree, I added the Christmas ornaments using Cherry Cobbler Ink & the star using Crushed Curry Ink. The sentiment is from the Santa's Sleigh Stamp Set.

Peace On Earth

Hello stampers,
     Today's card came from CASE'ing a card on Margaret Knight's blog, with a few changes.
      I started the card with a Crumb Cake Card Stock base followed by a layer of retired DSP. For the stamped layer, I stamped a sentiment from the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler Ink & the deer in Soft Suede Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. For the trees, I used the Card Front Builder Thinlets & the Big Shot to cut out Old Olive Card Stock, then used the Craft White Ink to add snow to the tips of the branches.

     Today's card is the last BSU challenge for the year. Hard to believe that 2018 is just around the corner.
     Today we focus on the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set. Not exactly sure why I didn't get the dies to go with this set, but it looks like they will be carried over if I do decide to finally get them. For this card, I used a Night Of Navy Card Stock base followed by a Whisper White Card Stock layer that I stamped one of the snowflakes from the set using Night Of Navy Ink. For the sentiment, I again used Whisper White Card Stock & Night Of Navy Ink, die cut it with the Big Shot & Layering Ovals Framelits. Then did the same with a piece of Night Of Navy Card Stock but used one of the scalloped framelits to complete the sentiment before I adhered it to the card.

Night In Bethlehem

     Sorry I guess I forgot to schedule some of my posts when I wrote them. I hope everyone had a great day yesterday to spend with friends & family. Today's card comes from CASE'ing Lisa Foster's blog, with a bit of change.
     I started the card using a Night Of Navy Card Stock base that I stamped some snowflakes from the Night In Bethlehem Stamp Set using Craft White Ink. For the stamped layer, I started with cutting an oval in the center using the Layering Oval Framelits before stamping the shepherd & sentiment from the set in Night Of Navy Ink. For the town frame, I used the Big Shot with the Bethlehem Edgelits to cut out from Basic Black Card Stock & retired Silver Shimmer Card Stock (star used this too).

Seasonal Lantern for Christmas

Hello stampers,
     Today's card comes from the help of seeing a card from Kristina Rees's blog & adding a few changes.
     I started the card using Crumb Cake Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Garden Green Card Stock that was stamped with the Merry Medley Stamp & Garden Green Ink. Next, I used retired Season Of Style DSP for the background to the stamped image. For the stamped image, I used the Seasonal Lantern Stamp Set, stamping the lantern using Memento Black Ink & coloring it in with the Crumb Cake Light Blends. I then added the candle outline using Memento Black Ink, the candle inside using Cherry Cobbler Ink & the flame/glow using Crushed Curry Ink. For the bow & leaves, I used Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, Garden Green Card Stock, Lantern Builder Framelits & the Big Shot. For the sentiment, I used Cherry Cobbler Card Stock & the retired Banner Punch with one of the sentiments from the set above that was attached to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Snowflake Resist

     How is everyone doing today? I'm doing pretty good & I am so happy that I finally finished my Christmas cards yesterday & they are all in the mail. YAY!
     Today's card is another card I made at Kerri's last class, that uses the Emboss Resist technique. We started with a Whisper White Card Stock base. Next, we took a layer of Whisper White Card Stock layer where we stamped various snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set using VersaMark Ink then covering with White Embossing Powder & using the Heat Tool to set. The sentiment is from the same set, but we used Silver Embossing Powder instead of the white. After the snowflakes were set, we used a sponge to make 3 layers of Soft Sky, Island Indigo & Night Of Navy Ink then taking a paper towel to wipe off the embossed areas so they pop through the color. After assembling the card we used the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets & the Big Shot to add a snowflake with a Rhinestone Jewel added to the middle.

Snowflake Christmas

     I thought this was the perfect card today to share since it is bitter cold & still snowing here. This card comes from Kerry's last card class that I was able to attend for the year.
     We started with an Elegant Eggplant Card Stock base. It's been a long time since I've used this color but I kind of like it for an unusual Christmas color. Next, we took a layer of Whisper White Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Winter Wonder TIEF. We then ran through the Big Shot a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper & Winter White Card Stock using the Layering Circle Framelits. A sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments was stamped on the Whisper White circle using Elegant Eggplant Ink before using the Tombo Multi Glue to adhere it to the Gold Glimmer Paper & then it was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals before adhering it to the snowflake.

     It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...both outside with the snow we are getting & finally a bit on my stamp table as I try to finish my Christmas cards. I found this card online & thought this would be an easy way to start my Christmas cards by CASEing this card from Shelly Johnson & since I didn't get to last weeks challenge due to being sick since Thanksgiving & not really having a lot of energy to stamp I thought I would share here.
     I started with a Tranquil Tide Card Stock base followed by an unusual layer of DSP which wasn't even a Christmas DSP. Any guesses? If you guessed that it came from Delightful Daisy DSP you'd be correct. Shelly stated in her post that "she has been determined to find different ways to use the DSP she already had." WOW, this piece works great for a nighttime snowy sky, doesn't it? I used the Hearts Come Home Stamp Set to stamp Santa & his sleigh using Tranquil Tide Ink. Next, I ran Whisper White Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Hometown Greetings Edgelits to make the homes & then used a sentiment from the stamp set in Tranquil Tide Ink to finish off the card.

Hello stampers,
     I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving last week, between guests & getting sick I didn't stamp much until today, so I thought I would get last week's card done before trying to do tomorrows. Last week's challenge was to use either Coffee Cafe or Merry Cafe Stamp Set.
     I started the card with a Real Red Card Stock base, followed by a Whisper White Card Stock layer that I ran through the Big Shot to dry emboss the Winter Wonder TIEF a bit offset then used the retired Dazzling Details Red (thought this was still current, :() in a few holes & finished this piece with a sentiment from the Merry Cafe Stamp Set using Smoky Slate Ink. Next, I took a piece of the Quilted Christmas DSP ran it through the Big Shot with the Coffee Cups Framelits & the Large Letters Framelits to make the mug, then on Whisper White Card Stock I die cut the cream & stamping this piece with the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set & Smoky Slate Ink.

Pumpkin Thanks

Hello stampers,
     Today's card is the last card from Kerri's October class, just in time to make more cards this weekend. YAY!
     This card was started with an Old Olive Card Stock base, followed by a layer of retired Naturals White Card Stock that we stamped the sentiment from the retired Sincere Salutations Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango Ink along with a flourish that I can't seem to remember which set it comes from but I know I have it (LOL)! in Old Olive Ink.  For the pumpkin in the middle we ran it through the Big Shot with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlets twice using Pumpkin Pie & Tangerine Tango Card Stock to get a 2-toned die cut pumpkin, with the leaves in Old Olive Card Stock. The other 2 pumpkins we stamped first using Pumpkin Pie Ink & an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker, then cut it out as above. The die cut pumpkin was adhered straight to the card layer, the stamped pumpkins were then adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals.

     Today's card is for the BSU challenge from yesterday, it took me some time to figure out my card after a few attempts. This week's challenge is all about the colors- Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake & Always Artichoke.
     I started off with a Always Artichoke Card Stock base that I had dry embossed with the Woodland Textured TIEF before assembling because I thought it needed a bit of pizazz. For my stamped piece, I used Whisper White Card Stock & stamped the lantern from the Seasonal Lantern Stamp Set in Cajun Craze Ink, then I stamped the outline of the candle with Crushed Curry Ink & the solid part was stamped off once before I stamped on the paper. Next, I took a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock stamped the bow the same way I did the candle & for the leaves I stamped the same way except I used Always Artichoke Ink before using my Big Shot & the Lantern Builder Framelits to cut out the leaves & the bow. Once assembled, I added this to a layer of Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the sentiment, I used a sentiment from the above set using Always Artichoke Ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock then used the retired Banner Punch. Pretty simple card to make!

     I'm a day late on the BSU challenge this week, I had a hard time on this week's challenge which was a technique. Once again we went old school & chose a technique that was done in the past but not so much anymore which is kissing. Where you stamp a solid stamp onto a textured background & then onto paper the solid image will carry the textured background. It's all good in theory except when you don't have too many solid stamps vs. good background stamps.
     I decided to head into Christmas since I really need to start on those cards in hopes of getting them out in time. I started with a Marina Mist Card Stock base. Next, I started stamping on Whisper White Card Stock using the Night In Bethlehem Stamp Set with the Marbled Stamp with Marina Mist Ink, then did the same thing with the star but I used Daffodil Delight Ink. This was layered with Island Indigo Card Stock before adhering to the base. I then added a sentiment from the set onto the base using Island Indigo Ink. Before finishing the card I took a scrap piece of Whisper White Card Stock, stamped the Mary & Joseph stamp with Island Indigo Ink & stamped it onto the Marbled Stamp before stamping it onto the paper & cutting it out using the Big Shot with the Bethlehem Edgelits.

     Let's usher in November with a little thankfulness! This week's BSU challenge theme is about being thankful or grateful. I'm thankful for my family without saying. I'm thankful for my husband who supports me no matter how crazy he thinks I am. I'm also thankful for my friends who accept me for who I am.
     I really wanted to try my hand at using the Count My Blessings Stamp Set, but after starting the card I realized that it didn't have a saying that related to being thankful or grateful, but I found sets that did. I started with a Very Vanilla Card Stock piece, stamping the flower from the Count My Blessings Stamp Set & then trying my luck with the new Blenders that are officially on sale as of today in Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive, this was then backed with a layer of Old Olive Card Stock. Next, I used a sentiment from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set using Pumpkin Pie Ink on Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. I thought it was a little plain so I used another stamp from the Count My Blessings Stamp Set also in Pumpkin Pie Ink to give it some dimension. Once I liked what I had done all were attached to an Old Olive Card Stock base.

     Welcome to another week of BSU challenges. This week we are focusing on Painted Harvest as the stamp set. This is probably my favorite set from the Holiday Catalog, thus far & I've seen so many out of the box ways this set can be used to make it more versatile.
     I started this card using an Early Espresso Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Daffodil Delight Card Stock. For the larger stamped image, I made my own form of DSP since I haven't ordered it for this set (don't ask me why I haven't, lol) by stamping the fern with Old Olive Ink & the acorn using Soft Suede Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock, which I then backed with Old Olive Card Stock. For the smaller stamped image, I first used the Big Shot & the Stitched Shapes Framelit squares to cut out the Very Vanilla Card Stock, then stamped the sunflower with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry & Early Espresso Ink. One of the sentiments from the set was centered on the sunflower using Early Espresso Ink, then this was layered onto Old Olive Card Stock.

     This week's BSU challenge is a color challenge & we decided to go with a fall color theme of Crushed Curry, Cajun Crazem, Garden Green, Early Espresso & Very Vanilla. I had absolutely no idea what set I was going to use I thought about Lovely As A Tree, until I saw the Painted Harvest on my desk yelling at me to "Pick ME, Pick ME!" So then I hummed & hawed over what I could possibly do to use these colors with this set & then it just started working out as I stamped.
     I started with a Garden Green Card Stock base, followed by layers of Cajun Craze Card Stock & Crushed Curry Card Stock. For the main stamp piece, I used the Painted Harvest Stamp Set stamped the sunflower back ground using Crushed Curry Ink & rotating it a bit & stamping a 2nd time. I followed that up with the top stamp using Cajun Craze Ink. And thought this could really work! The inside of the sunflower was stamped with Early Espresso Ink. For the fern leaves, I stamped the background stamp with Garden Green Ink stamped off once before stamping on the paper, then followed with the detailed stamp full force. For the sentiment, I used Garden Green Ink, then for the acorns I used Early Espresso Ink, stamped off once for the base of the acorn. To finish the sentiment, I sponged on the top & bottom of the piece using Crushed Curry Ink & backed it with Cajun Craze Card Stock.
