WCMD 2023- Heartfelt Hexagon

Hello stampers,

Were you able to watch Stampin' Up!s WCMD 2023 event? I wasn't able to watch the whole thing but I plan on rewatching it. I was able to make the last card, I don't have 1 set but I'm thinking of trying to find a substitute to use & for the other card I need to find my watercolor paper.

This card uses the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle with Basic White, Berry Burst, Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon &  Lemon Lolly Cardstocks. I did differ a bit on the inks, using Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist & Azure Afternoon.  For the focal point, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up off the card. I also switched & used Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems.

Doodle This Birthday

Hello stampers,
     Today's card is the last card we did at Kerri's class. We used an old set that had a special theme to it, it was the 1st set that Kerri bought when she became a demo & used it for many of her first classes 10 years ago so she thought it would be wonderful to end with this set as well.
     We started with a Melon Mambo Card Stock base, followed by layers of Old Olive & Basic Black Card Stock. For the stamped piece, we used Whisper White Card Stock where we stamped the flowers & swirl from the retired Doodle This Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. We had the option of using Marvelous Markers, Blends or watercoloring them with Blender Pens. I chose to use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Blends to color with. We used a sentiment from the retired Curly Cute Stamp Set with Memento Black Ink onto the base of the card.

Daisy Birthday

Hello stampers,
     Day 2 of Kerri's last class card! This was a fun card to do, a little bit of work though!
     We started the card with a Calypso Coral Card Stock base followed by a layer of Whisper White Card Stock that had been run through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst TIEF. Next, we took a scrap piece of Calypso Coral Card Stock, backed it with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets before going to the Big Shot to cut it out using the Happy Birthday Thinlets. We then took scraps of Whisper White Card Stock, inked up the daisy from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set using Calypso Coral Ink & stamped 2 daises (one was stamped off for a lighter shade) then punched them out using the Daisy Punch. We used Garden Green Card Stock scraps for the leaves that we cut using the Big Shot with the May Flowers Framelits. We assembled the daisies & added a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper center. As we assembled the card we added the sentiment first so we could judge where to put the Burlap Ribbon & the daisy was then popped up using a Stampin' Dimensional.

Dragonfly Dreams Birthday

Hello stampers,
     So I'm a bit sad that May was the last class my friend Kerri was going to do. It has been great stamping with a group of ladies who love to stamp & chat, I'm going to miss that!
     For this card, we started out with a Very Vanilla Card Stock base followed by a layer of Basic Gray Card Stock & then with layer two of Flirty Flamingo Card Stock that was embossed using the Big Shot & the Softly Falling TIEF & stamped with a sentiment from the Sincere Salutations Stamp Set using Basic Gray Ink. Next, we took a square piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock & stamped it with Basic Gray Ink (stamped off once) to stamp the dots from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set, this was then backed by a piece of Basic Gray Card Stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Layering Squares Framelits, then attached to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. The dragonfly was cut out using the Big Shot with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets which I probably should have attached after I put the background square on so that its wings wouldn't have gone past the end of the card. I so love this set & all the possibilities that can be done with it.

Happy Birthday Daisy

Hello stampers,
     Today's card is the last card we made at Kerri's class last month & just what I needed since I'm doing my best to send more birthday cards out.
     So this card would probably be easy to mass produce, the most difficult would probably be punching out the daisies. We started the card with a Whisper White Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Crumb Cake Card Stock where we stamped a jar from the Jar of Love Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink & the daisy stems from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set using Old Olive Ink. Next, we stamped 4 daisies using Night Of Navy Ink, with 2 being stamped off once before stamping on Whisper White Card Stock. We then used the Daisy Punch to punch out all 4 daises then added the Daffodil Delight Ink middle to the lighter of the 2 daisies. The front daisy was then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals, while the other card was glued to the Crumb Cake layer. For the sentiment, we stamped it using Memento Black Ink onto a Whisper White Card Stock strip but I can't tell you what set this comes from off the top of my head, but it could be retired, then attached next to it some Basic Pearls before attaching it to a layer of Daffodil Delight Card Stock.

Falling Flowers Birthday

     Sorry it's been over a week since I last posted, it has been a rough & busy start to May. Today's card is a card that I made at Kerri's class last month. I'm really sad that she has decided to no longer do classes after this month, it was my once a month chance to have fun with the ladies & stamp with a group.
     To start this card, we used an Early Espresso Card Stock base, followed by a layer of the Wood Textured DSP. On the Whisper White Card Stock layer, we stamped different stamps with the Falling Flowers Stamp Set using Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Ink which we then colored in with a Blender Pen. We stamped the sentiment using Early Espresso Ink with the retired Sincere Salutations Stamp Set. Next, we took one of the flower dies from the May Flower Framelits & die cut it with Melon Mambo Card Stock in the Big Shot. Very simple card to make!

High Tide Father's Day

Hello stampers,
     Oh, what a beautiful spring day this will be! So excited to be in the 50's-60's with the windows open to let in the fresh air!
     Today I have a nice masculine type of card that I'm going to use as Father's Day cards as long as I can find them when the time comes. LOL! This card was one of the ones made in Kerri's class this month. Night Of Navy Card Stock was used for the base of the card, along with the layer for the stamped image. Next, we used a layer of retiring Marina Mist Card Stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Seaside TIEF. For the stamped image, we used the High Tide Stamp Set stamping the birds in Night Of Navy Ink, the sun in Daffodil Delight Ink & the water with Marina Mist Ink stamped off once, then we used a Stampin' Dauber to fill the water with more color. I'm not sure what set the sentiment comes from but I believe it is retired. I love the simplicity of this card & that it could be used for a variety of things.

Celebrate

Hello stampers,
     This is another card I did at one of Kerri's classes a few months ago that was just sitting in my draft folder waiting for me to finish up the post.
     For this card, Melon Mambo Card Stock was used for the base, followed by a layer of Old Olive Card Stock that had been run through the Big Shot & embossed with the Falling Snow TIEF. Next, we wrapped the Old Olive with the Silver Mini Sequin Trim down the center. For the stamped pieces, we used the now retired SAB set Amazing You. We stamped the flairs in Old Olive Ink on the large Whisper White Card Stock piece, then used a smaller piece to stamp the sentiment by using Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo Marvelous Markers together on the stamp to make the ombre type coloring. The sentiment was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals before adding to the center of the flairs & then attached to a Melon Mambo Card Stock piece before being adhered to the card..

Balloon Birthday

Hello stampers,
     Who doesn't like balloons for their birthday? This is an easy way of mailing lots of balloons while wishing the person a Happy Birthday.
     To start the card, we took a layer of Whisper White Card Stock, stamping the sentiment in Memento Black Ink. Then starting from the bottom up we did 2 rows of balloons from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set using Pink Pirouette Ink, retired Strawberry Slush Ink & Melon Mambo Ink. Once it was all stamped we adhered it to a Whisper White Card Stock base. A real easy card to mass produce in any color you choose.

Trying Brusho

Hello stampers,
     At Kerri's class last month she let us try out the new Brusho in the catalog. Some of us went about doing things the hard way, I, of course, was a bit faster to finish my 2 cards before being told we had done things the wrong way. While I liked the way the watercoloring turned out, although I now notice in the pics that I didn't go over the embossing with a paper towel like I should have, I really liked the speckled look that the others got in their 2nd cards. My initial thought just seeing this stuff in the catalog was that it would be messy & I wasn't wrong on that. Can I say I'm a big fan? For now, probably not, but it is another great way to do things.
     For the cards, we used the new Beautiful Day Stamp Set, embossed each stamp with VersaMark Ink & White Embossing Powder on Watercolor Paper. After heat setting them, we used AquaPainters to wet the area before applying the Brusho. I started with yellow on the butterfly but the blue took over & I just went with it, adding a few Basic Jewel Rhinestones for the body & top of the antennas.

Barn Door Birthday

Hello stampers,
     So at Kerri's class last month, I got to use the Barn Door bundle. While I liked the set in the catalog, it's just not my type of card to make- too many pieces to put together & too much time on 1 card. But this is just my opinion, lots of people seem to really like the set!
     For the card, we started with a layer of Crumb Cake Card Stock for the base. The next layer we used the same color, ran it through the Big Shot first to emboss it using the retired Stripes TIEF then ran it through again Sliding Door Framelits to die cut it. I don't remember what set we used for the sentiments, but they were stamped on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock & attached to the Crumb Cake Card Stock. Before we assembled, we stamped the door using the Barn Door Stamp Set with Soft Suede Ink, the wreath in Garden Green Ink & the bow in Real Red Ink before we cut out the sliding pieces using Basic Black Card Stock, the door using Soft Suede Card Stock, the wreath & bow using Whisper White Card Stock. We attached 8 #8 washers together using Mini Dimensionals so the door would be able to move side to side. Next, we used Glue Dots to attach the door to the washers by first attaching one side both up & down, then the other side when they were all the way to one edge that way they were covered on each side by the door. We then attached the hardware to the top of the door so that it looks like it is sliding on the bar. We finished attaching everything else to the layer before adhering the layer to the base of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals to help it slide better. You still have time to get this set if it's on your wish list, but Sale-A-Bration is ending this Saturday 3/31.

Waterfront

     Hope your Monday after the time change is going well. I really wish they would just do away with changing the time back & forth. Don't you agree?
     Today's card is from Kerri's class last month using the Waterfront Stamp Set. I so love this set & hope it makes it into the new catalog. For the base, we used the retired Midnight Muse Card Stock, followed by a layer of Soft Sky Card Stock. For the stamped piece, we used Whisper White Card Stock then started the mountains stamping them with Basic Gray Ink; the land pieces using Soft Suede Ink; the trees using Old Olive Ink; the water/splatter using Soft Sky Ink & Midnight Muse Ink; the sun using Crushed Curry Ink stamped off once. The sentiment from the set was stamped using Midnight Muse Ink. Before attaching the stamped piece to the card, Linen Thread was wrapped around & knotted to finish off the card.

Birthday Wishes

     Today's card was made at Kerri's February card class at the beginning of the month, just in time for me to send out some for February birthdays except for the fact they sat at my computer longer than they should have.
     Whisper White Card Stock was used for the base of the card & the colored strip, where we stamped the tree from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp set through the strip onto the base & the sentiment from the retired Sincere Salutations Stamp Set using Early Espresso Ink. Next, we used an already made moon & scenery mask from post-it notes to add color to the strip of Whisper White Card Stock using Peakaboo Peach, Daffodil Delight & Pear Pizazz Ink with a dauber before adhering it to the card. I love the look of the scenery colors that these 3 colors make.

Wreath Punch Art

Hello stampers,
     Today's card has a bit of punch art to make the card that was made at Kerri's last class.
     To start the card we used Crumb Cake Card Stock, followed by a layer of Whisper White Card Stock.  We used a smaller layer of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock that we embossed using the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set for the sentiment, White Embossing Powder & the Heat Tool. For the wreath, we used the Leaf Punch along with Garden Green Card Stock to punch out about 8 leaf stems (cutting off the stem off the end.) Instead, of using a ribbon bow, I changed it to a paper bow using the Pretty Pines Thinlets & Big Shot.

Snowflake Resist

     How is everyone doing today? I'm doing pretty good & I am so happy that I finally finished my Christmas cards yesterday & they are all in the mail. YAY!
     Today's card is another card I made at Kerri's last class, that uses the Emboss Resist technique. We started with a Whisper White Card Stock base. Next, we took a layer of Whisper White Card Stock layer where we stamped various snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set using VersaMark Ink then covering with White Embossing Powder & using the Heat Tool to set. The sentiment is from the same set, but we used Silver Embossing Powder instead of the white. After the snowflakes were set, we used a sponge to make 3 layers of Soft Sky, Island Indigo & Night Of Navy Ink then taking a paper towel to wipe off the embossed areas so they pop through the color. After assembling the card we used the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets & the Big Shot to add a snowflake with a Rhinestone Jewel added to the middle.

Lovely As A Tree

     YAY I think my computer is finally back to normal after 3 days of finding various problems from the latest update I'm finally able to use it for more than a few minutes. So have you got all your Christmas cards done yet? I got all the out-of-state cards mailed out today, I still have to work on a few that are local.
     Today's card is another card I made at Kerri's last class. We started with a Smoky Slate Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Basic Gray Card Stock. For the stamped layer, we used Whisper White Card Stock, stamping the lone tree from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set using Smoky Slate Ink & we colored in some red bulbs using a Real Red Marvelous Marker. However, when I got home I decided to go over those with retired Red Dazzling Details to add a bit of sparkle. After stamping the tree we ran this layer through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling TIEF then added the Silver 1/8 Ribbon before attaching to the card. For the sentiment, I used a non-SU stamp set on Whisper White Card Stock using Real Red Ink, cut it out using the Big Shot & the Layering Oval Framelits to cut the sentiment & the Real Red Card Stock layer, then popped it up on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Snowflake Christmas

Hello stampers,
     I thought this was the perfect card today to share since it is bitter cold & still snowing here. This card comes from Kerry's last card class that I was able to attend for the year.
     We started with an Elegant Eggplant Card Stock base. It's been a long time since I've used this color but I kind of like it for an unusual Christmas color. Next, we took a layer of Whisper White Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Winter Wonder TIEF. We then ran through the Big Shot a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper & Winter White Card Stock using the Layering Circle Framelits. A sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments was stamped on the Whisper White circle using Elegant Eggplant Ink before using the Tombo Multi Glue to adhere it to the Gold Glimmer Paper & then it was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals before adhering it to the snowflake.

Pumpkin Thanks

     Today's card is the last card from Kerri's October class, just in time to make more cards this weekend. YAY!
     This card was started with an Old Olive Card Stock base, followed by a layer of retired Naturals White Card Stock that we stamped the sentiment from the retired Sincere Salutations Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango Ink along with a flourish that I can't seem to remember which set it comes from but I know I have it (LOL)! in Old Olive Ink.  For the pumpkin in the middle we ran it through the Big Shot with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlets twice using Pumpkin Pie & Tangerine Tango Card Stock to get a 2-toned die cut pumpkin, with the leaves in Old Olive Card Stock. The other 2 pumpkins we stamped first using Pumpkin Pie Ink & an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker, then cut it out as above. The die cut pumpkin was adhered straight to the card layer, the stamped pumpkins were then adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Leaf Happy Birthday

Hello stampers,
     When I think of leaves & trees I usually think fall, but this card with all the green looks more like spring to me. What do you think?
     This card was made with a Garden Green Card Stock base that was stamped with the lined leaf stamp from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set using Garden Green Ink. For the stamped image, we used 2 masks that were cut out using the Seasonal Layers Thinlets on scratch paper & sponged the leaves using retired Mint Macaron, Wild Wasabi & Garden Green Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I'm unaware of what set was used for the sentiment but it was stamped with Memento Black Ink. Lastly, we used retired Mint Macaron Card Stock with the Seasonal Layers Thinlets & Big Shot the detailed leaf die & adhered it to the card using the Fine Tip Glue.

Wreath Punch Thanks

Hello stampers,
     Today's card comes from Kerri's last class. I never thought to use this punch to make a wreath with, guess I need to work on making mine a bit more circular.
     We started with a Cherry Cobbler Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Smoky Slate Card Stock that we stamped with the Hardwood Stamp Set using Smoky Slate Ink stamped off once. Next, we took a sentiment from the retired Thoughtful Branches Stamp Set using Cherry Cobbler Ink. Kerri was nice enough to punch out many leaves from the Leaf Punch using Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Card Stock, which we then put on the card in a circular fashion & topped it with a Linen Thread bow.
