BSU060717

Hello stampers,
Long time no see everyone! Life has been a whirlwind around here. Don't you ever wish that you can have a Calgon moment with stamps & let all your worries & problems just wash away? Yeah me too! I've got all these new things from the catalog & I haven't even touched them yet, how sad right?
Today's card is for this week's BSU challenge which was all about Father's Day or Masculine cards. This card was done in Kerri's class but I thought I would use it here since it fit the bill & since I'm so behind on challenges & have touched anything I figured it would work before I missed another challenge which I really do hope to make some cards up for past challenges.
Basic Black Card Stock was used as the base of the card. Next, retired Brush Silver Card Stock was run through the Big Shot using the Hexagon TIEF then layered on top of Basic Gray Card Stock. A 1" piece of Basic Gray Card Stock was then punched on one end by the Triple Banner Punch & added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment stamp is from the now retired Urban District Stamp Set, stamped using Basic Gray Ink & fussy cut into a hexagon, it was then layered on top of Basic Black Card Stock which was also fussy cut around that to have a layer.

Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.

BSU041917

Hello stampers,
For this week's BSU challenge we chose the color combo of Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizazz, Old Olive & Crumb Cake. Now, when we decided on this color I had no idea what I was going to do for these colors but I figured I could do something floral & hopefully use all the colors. Well, I ended up finding another set that I thought would be better & since it hasn't seen any ink yet I thought it would be perfect.
I started with an Old Olive Card Stock base, then layered it with some Tasty Treats Specialty DSP. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White Card Stock & using the Cool Treats Stamp Set started to stamp- the cone uses Crumb Cake Ink & the ice cream parts use Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizazz & Calypso Coral Inks. Both the cones & ice cream parts were stamped off once then stamped over it full ink. The sentiment was stamped using Old Olive Ink. This piece was then layered with Old Olive Card Stock before the whole card was assembled.

BSU022217

Hello stampers,
This week for the BSU Challenge we are focusing on the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set. I love dragonflies & was so happy to see this set in the Occasions catalog.
For this card, I started with a 1/4 sheet of Basic Black Card Stock as the base, then used Whisper White Card Stock as the foldable part of the card. A strip of Melon Mambo Card Stock was placed in the center with a strip of Inside The Lines DSP which was colored in using various Marvelous Markers. The sentiment from the set was then stamped at the bottom using Memento Black Ink. Lastly, the group of dragonflies was cut out using Basic Black Card Stock, the Big Shot & the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.

BSU012517

Hello stampers,
Happy Wednesday, y'all! Today's BSU challenge was a theme & we chose to use anything in the new Occasions Catalog.
I decided to use the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set. I started with a layer of Whisper White Card Stock, then used the biggest background flower stamping it with Sweet Sugarplum Ink in all four corner, followed by the outline flower stamp with Rich Razzleberry Ink. Next, I took the background leaf or as I like to call it grass stamp, stamped it off once with Old Olive Ink then full ink for the outline stamp. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in Rich Razzleberry Ink & the banners with Sweet Sugarplum Ink. To finish the card, I backed the Whisper White Card Stock with Real Razzleberry Card Stock, followed by Old Olive Card Stock & finished it with a Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock base. I really have to work with this set & see what other ideas I can come up with I was at a loss when I started the card.

Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.

BSU011117

Hello stampers,
Happy Wednesday everyone! Today's BSU challenge is a technique & we are going old school back to when Joseph's Coat was all the rage. This was much more simpler than I remember it, but then again I'm not really a technique type of girl unless it is easy & this was pretty simple.
For this card, I chose to use the new Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set from the Occasions catalog. I LOVE dragonflies! When we lived overseas, I always knew when a storm was coming because they always came out to warn us ahead of time. I started with a 2.75 x 3.5 sized piece of Whisper White Card Stock, I sponged the middle of this piece with Emerald Envy Ink & either side with Marina Mist Ink. I then stamped the dragonfly in the middle using VersaMark Ink, then covered it with Clear Embossing Powder & heat set it. *TIP* make sure you use your embossing buddy before stamping it, I couldn't find mine so I had to use a paintbrush to take off all the excess since it stuck to the sponged ink. I then went over the whole piece with Memento Black Ink, which with the clear embossing made the colors I had sponged earlier pop. This was then layered onto a piece of Marina Mist Card Stock. For the base, I used Emerald Envy Card Stock, stamping the dots from the set in Emerald Envy Ink along one side & then stamped one of the sentiments from the set in Memento Black Ink.
