Hello stampers,
It's been a really busy week, between a 3-day migraine, rescue stuff & my husband being home this week I just realized I never posted my challenge from last week, will have to do that later. Right now, it's all about this week's challenge.
This week's challenge is all about making a feminine and/or Mother's Day card. I chose the latter. For this card, I started with a Real Red Card Stock base, followed by a layer of Pink Pirouette Card Stock. Whisper White Card Stock was used as the stamping piece, where I stamped the bears & the flowers from the Bear Hugs Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink. Next, I stamped the heart from the same set with Soft Suede Ink onto Real Red Card Stock & fussy cut it out. then popped it up using a Stampin' Dimensional. I colored in the flowers using Pink Pirouette, So Saffron & Wild Wasabi Marvelous Markers. Finally, I used 2 sentiments the top comes from the Greatest Greetings Stamp Set the bottom comes from the Bear Hugs Stamp Set stamping them in Real Red Ink.
Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.
~Thanks for stopping by!

Crazy About You Thanks
Hello stampers,
Happy Wednesday! Glad to be half way through the week, not exactly sure why but I'm happy!
Today's card is another bright card & very easy to make. For the base, Melon Mambo Card Stock was used then layered with Whisper White Card Stock. Strips of Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo DSP were used for the next layer, the Pumpkin Pie piece was a tad bit smaller than the Melon Mambo piece. Last we ran a piece of Whisper White Card Stock through the Big Shot with the Banner Framelits, stamped the flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set in both colors & the sentiment from the same set is in Melon Mambo Ink, then added the Jewel Rhinestones as a final touch.
~Enjoy

Monochromatic Moon Lake
Hello stampers,
I hope y'all had a great weekend! I spent mine mostly in bed or on the couch, UGH! I went out for the first time on Thursday for a nice massage & ended up coming home with I thought was an allergy attack- red, swollen, watery eyes & nasal congestion, don't remember having one that bad before. By Friday I had a horrendous cough that made my whole rib cage hurt, but at least by last night it wasn't nearly as bad, so I hope I'm on the mend.
I hear today we are supposed to be in the high 70's but windy, so I may have to miss it because I'm sick, maybe if the wind isn't too bad I'll be able to open up some windows & air this house out. I keep telling my husband this house is making me sick & I think he is finally believing me. Gotta figure out something, cuz I'm truly done being sick!
For today's card I decided I wanted to do something masculine looking, not sure why but that is where I went. It's a very simple card & didn't take much time at all to do. I used 2 colors for this card so it's a masculine monochromatic card, I guess I would say. For the stamped layer, I stamped the boat & sentiment from the Moon Lake Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Card Stock. Next I layered, that piece with an Early Espresso Card Stock piece. Finally, for the base layer, I used Crumb Cake Card Stock, which I then used the splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink which I stamped off once & stamped the base with it.
~Enjoy

Hello stampers,
Happy Frenzy Friday! So yesterday was a bit of a hard day for me, I had to take one of my cats in for a teeth cleaning & knew that there would probably be at least 2 extractions. I always worry when my fur-babies have to be put under. However, by the time all was said & done my baby actually had 4 teeth pulled. So between her & my truck having to go into the shop, it was a VERY expensive day.
I did manage to get my card done today, although it was very, very late. I have no idea where the days go anymore! One minute I'm ahead of the game & then BAM I'm behind the next.
Now onto the card! For the base I used Wild Wasabi Card Stock. Next layer I used Wisteria Wonder Card Stock, which I then cut out the middle using the Oval Framelits. I just realized I never embossed this piece like I wanted to before adhering, OOPSIE! For the stamped image I used the Painted Petals Stamp Set, stamping in Wisteria Wonder Ink & Wild Wasabi Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock, which was then cut out using the Oval Framelits & placed in the middle of the Wisteria Wonder layer. The 3 little flowers were punched out using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch from Whisper White Card Stock that I then sponged the ink onto & added the Pearl Basic Jewels. (I was trying for a different look with the sponging, but it didn't happen like I thought it would.) For the sentiment I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set stamped in Wisteria Wonder Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock then punched out using the Word Window Punch. This was then backed by Wild Wasabi Card Stock punched out with the Modern Label Punch.
This week's sketch was created by Jennifer Kay. Hop on over to the SFF blog & check out what the other team members did. Better yet, make your own card based on the sketch below & add your link to this week's challenge. Happy sketching & enjoy your weekend!

Hello stampers,
Happy Frenzy Friday y'all! Oh lookie, possible snow in our forecast today & below freezing temps tomorrow, what a SHOCK!
For today's sketch I am using the Painted Petals Stamp Set. On Whisper White Card Stock I stamped the flowers in Blackberry Bliss Ink & the leave in Wild Wasabi Ink. Next I cut a sheet of Painted Blooms DSP on the diagonal & adhered it to the Whisper White Card Stock piece. I then attached the Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon on the seam of the 2 above papers. For the greeting I used Blackberry Bliss Ink again, punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch & then sponged around the edges in Wild Wasabi Ink. The card is completed with a Wild Wasabi Card Stock base.

Hello stampers,
Welcome back to another week of Sketch Frenzy Friday! Yesterday, I had a much needed massage. I haven't had one since the beginning of January with being sick on & off. Let me tell you it was just in time too, my back & neck were giving me all kinds of signals that they were unhappy campers, but I'm very surprised that my back held out for that long. I usually can't go more than a month without having problems, but laying around probably helped just a little.
So today is the first day of spring & looks like we are supposed to be in the 40's & 50's today & tomorrow, before we head back down to below freezing. So I decided on a spring card, maybe one day soon I'll actually get to partake in spring.
For the base of the card I used Blushing Bride Card Stock, a color I really don't use that often. Next I cut out 4 squares of Pear Pizazz Card Stock to be placed in the corners of the card. Then I stamped a butterfly from the Kinda Electic Stamp Set in Blushing Bride Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock, punching it out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. For the main image, I used Whisper White Card Stock & stamped the flower stamp from Indescribable Gifts using Memento Black Ink. I colored the flowers & stem using the Skin Tone Assortment Blendabilities & the leaves using the Pear Pizazz Marvelous Marker, which was then layered onto Pear Pizazz Card Stock. Easy Peasy!

Sheltering Tree
Hello stampers,
Happy Monday y'all! Yep, I said it & I hope the weathermen are correct & that we have a 50 degree day today, before the next cold storm comes through. I guess Mother Nature doesn't want Winter to be over for us quite yet. But I'm looking to the future for Spring, as shown in this card that I did for a Stamp a Stack at Kerri's house.
For this card, we used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set. We stamped onto Whisper White Card Stock the tree trunk in Early Espresso Ink, the leaves in Gumball Green & Melon Mambo Ink & finished with Gumball Green Ink for the grass. The tree was then die-cutted using the Oval Frame-lits, along with the Melon Mambo Card Stock layer. The Melon Mambo layer was then attached to the Gumball Green Card Stock layer & the tree oval was placed in the center. All of which was attached to a Whisper White Card Stock base. The bike was supposed to be added to the bottom right corner after stamping onto Whisper White Card Stock scraps but I ruined a few cutting out the handle bars or seat so gave up & kept it plain. These colors shout SPRING, to me!!! I'm so happy to finally being able to see parts of my grass & the birds have been having a field day as well.

Love Is Kindness
Hello stampers,
Happy Tuesday! For today's card I played with the blendabilities again. I'm not sure I'll ever get the hang of blending, I remember an online friend teaching a class on this many years ago using the Marvelous Markers during VC Rocks, I just have to remember the tips she gave like- "Figure out where the light would shine on your image." Even though I'm not a colorer, I have figured out one thing I like better with these pens, you don't see the streaking like you do with the other markers. So even if I never figure out how to blend at least this will be a plus with the colors I currently have.
For today's card, I again went with a Very Vanilla Card Stock base. Yes, I know this is very rare since I am a big Whisper White fan, but thought I would start giving some love to the Vanilla. The next layer I used Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, embossed with the Spring Flowers TIEF. I'm not sure exactly why I decided not to do a full layer of Old Olive Card Stock, but when I laid the stamped piece on top I like that it didn't have a top or bottom piece to it. For the top layer, I again used Very Vanilla, stamped it with the Love Is Kindness Stamp in Memento Black. I then colored it in using the Rich Razzleberry & Skin Tone Blendabilities & Old Olive Marvelous Marker.

Hello stampers,
Happy Frenzy Friday! I hope you've had a better week than I have, we are on record to be the coldest February ever recorded just a few more days until we say good-bye to that & hopefully start warming up a bit. On top of that, I think anything I touched yesterday just went flying- picked up marker case to move it & there goes markers, tried putting stamps cases on a shelf they came tumbling down (so happy they were mostly the photopolymer stamps!) luckily I didn't pick up anything breakable, would've hated trying picking all that up. Hoping today will be a bit better & I get a chance to stamp!
I've realized I don't have a lot of current masculine type stamps anymore, which isn't good when you need a few to make cards for the men in your life, good thing they don't know that most of what they get is retired. However, I did just buy the Guy Greetings Stamp Set in the Occasions catalog, so we'll see how if I like the set better in person than in the catalog, at least I have a few examples that I've liked out on the web.
As you may have guessed with my rambling, I made a masculine card for today's sketch using the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. I stamped the car from the set onto Very Vanilla Card Stock using the Memento Black Ink Pad, than coloring the car with Crumb Cake Blendabilities & the Basic Black Marvelous Marker. I then punched that the car out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, then backed it with Early Espresso Card Stock which was cut out using the Starburst Framelits. For the 2nd layer, I ran Very Vanilla Card Stock through the Big Shot to dry emboss that piece using the Argyle TIEF, this piece was then adhered to the Early Espresso Card Stock base. For the banners I fussy cut a 1/2" piece of Early Espresso, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake Card Stock, adding some of the words from the above set to the final banner & adhered them to the embossed piece. Once all that was put together, I added the car piece using Stampin' Dimensionals. Voila!

Hello stampers,
Happy Frenzy Friday to y'all, oh & to top it off it's Friday the 13th! I can't believe it's Friday, I lost a day this week somewhere. Today's card is usually due on Wednesday to the group & here I was Wednesday night thinking I was ahead of the game & I'm not sure what caused me to realize that I couldn't go to bed quite yet. Good thing or I wouldn't have a card to show you today. I hope y'all are warmer today than we are supposed to be, we aren't even supposed to be in the double digits today & supposedly we are to wake up to -20. YIKES & this is the reason why I have stayed indoors most of the winter.
Today's card is a birthday card for the SFF sketch. I started by stamping the roses from the Painted Petals Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss Ink & the stems in Wild Wasabi Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. I then punched the roses out using the 2" Circle Punch, followed by punching a piece of Blackberry Bliss Card Stock with the 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch. I then pulled out my Moonlight DSP pad & cut a 3/4" piece off of the honeycomb paper, where I applied 2 Pearl Basic Jewels at one end. Next I cut 2 pieces of Wild Wasabi Card Stock & stamped the "Happy Birthday" words from Crazy About You Stamp Set. All of the above was then adhered to the Whisper White Card Stock layer then the Wild Wasabi Card Stock base. As an afterthought, I added the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge set to 2 corners using Wild Wasabi Ink stamped off once before stamping it onto the Whisper White Card Stock piece.
This week's sketch was created by Carol Read. Hop on over to the SFF blog & check out what the other team members did. Better yet, make your own card based on the sketch below & add your link to this week's challenge. Happy sketching & enjoy your weekend!

Happy Friday y'all! Welcome back to another week of Sketch Frenzy Friday.
Today's card is another Valentine's/Love card using the stamp set Groovy Love. I stamped the zebra print heart with Real Red Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock, added one of the sayings from the set in Memento Black Ink & punched it out using the Sweetheart Punch. Next I stuck the heart to the a piece of Real Red Card Stock that had been punched using 1 3/4" Circle Punch with a Stampin' Dimensional, this piece was then attached to a Basic Black Card Stock piece that was punched out with the 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch. The 2 rectangular pieces & the 1st layer all come from the Stacked With Love DSP found in the new Occasions Catalog. The banner uses Crisp Cataloupe Card Stock, was cut using the Banner Framelits & embossed with the new Happy Hearts TIEF from the same catalog. I used Calypso Coral Card Stock on the base to finish the card.

Hello stampers,
Happy Sketch Frenzy Friday, y'all! I was so looking forward to this weekend & finally getting above freezing, but it looks like now we'll only getting there on Sunday. I'll take it, beggars can't be choosy right? Yes, I'm still getting used to life in NY, I've thought the snow has been beautiful to look at but right now I'm just a tad bit tired of looking at nothing but white. UGH!
So while I'm hibernating in my house to stay out of the cold & away from people that are sick, I'm trying to stamp. YAY! Although I'm not getting to far in that, just a bit frustrated with my lack of mojo. I did manage to get a card in for this week's sketch.
I gravitated to my favorite Christmas color combo of Pool Party, Lost Lagoon & Smoky Slate for this card. I did use 2 new sets from the Occasions Catalog Something Lacy & Mother's Love to make a Mother's Day card. Yep, I thought that far into the future when I should really be thinking Birthday & Love.
This was a very easy & fast card to make once I figured out what I was going to do, although the sketch had me really stumped on what to do. For the base & strip I used Smoky Slate Card Stock. I then took a piece of Pool Party Card Stock, where I stamped the Something Lacy Background Stamp onto with Lost Lagoon Ink. I also used Lost Lagoon Ink to stamp the words from Mother's Love onto Whisper White Card Stock & mounted that onto Lost Lagoon Card Stock. Voila, the card is done!
