Hello stampers,
Surprise, I have a post for you today! 15 years ago this month a group was formed for demos that couldn't attend convention. Many changes have been made over the years which included the name being changed to VC Rocks, one thing still remains the same WE LOVE STAMPIN' UP! So this month's blog hop is all about birthdays, head on over to the VC blog to see what other members made for this weekend.
For the base of the card, I used Tip Top Taupe Card Stock. Next, I used May's Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set Birthday Bundle to stamp the balloons & the string in Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Crushed Curry & Tip Top Taupe Inks. I have never been good at putting 2 pieces of DSP together on the same card, unless they come from the color packs & are exactly the same design. However, a few demos on the group talked about the Cut, Flip, Add A Strip Tip. What is this? You cut your DSP, flip it to the other side then add a strip. I only did a bit of this as I didn't use the DSP for the whole card just 1/4 of it. The DSP I chose for the card is the Cherry On Top, where the candles & heart confetti is one page front & back. For the punched image, I started with Tip Top Taupe Card Stock punched out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, followed by Whisper White Card Stock punched out with the 2" Circle Punch. I stamped tone on tone from the Sprinkles Of Life Stamp Set; the cloud (Pool Party Ink & Card Stock) & cupcake base (Tip Top Taupe Ink & Card Stock, fussy cut) & applied this to the white base. Finally, I added the sentiment from And Many More Stamp Set in Tip Top Taupe Ink to Pool Party Card Stock punched out on one end using the Banner Punch.
~Enjoy
