BSU111115

Hello stampers,
Yesterday, we celebrated the 240th Birthday of the Marine Corps, while we are now a retired family we still honor the tradition of the cake ceremony at my hubby's work. Today, we celebrate the 1% who have served or are serving including the families that have stood along beside them & supported them. THANK YOU for your service!
Today, the BSU challenge is all about the technique, more specifically the Bokeh Technique. I tried the watercolor route to this technique but didn't have the luck as everyone else did of it turning out pretty, mine just looked all muddy. So I went with Stace's version which was to apply the color directly to the paper using sponges, then applying the "bubbles" with Craft White Ink. The colors I chose for this technique were Real Red, Pear Pizazz & Crumb Cake Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the dove from Dove Of Peace in Memento Black Ink. The stamped layer was then attached to Real Red Card Stock followed by Pear Pizazz Card Stock as the base of the card.

Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE & Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did this week for this challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too!
