Hello stampers,
For today's BSU challenge we are going old school with the technique. Retiform has started making a comeback lately, so we thought it would work for our challenge. I can't remember the last time I actually made a card using this technique but looking at a video about it Jackie Boulhuis' kids made their cards in 2002, so that could be a good indication of how long it's been.
So I really had no idea what set I was going to use for this challenge, especially since I finished next week's challenge this week instead, but I managed to figure it out & be ahead of the game. WIN, WIN! For this card, I used Early Espresso Card Stock for the base. Next, for the stamped layer I used Whisper White Card Stock then took the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set & stamped the cup & sentiment dead center of the card in Early Espresso Ink. I then took a scrap piece of paper & started making lines along with shading within those lines with a Sponge Dauber & Soft Suede Ink. After I was satisfied I took post-it notes to mask each block off as I went & used various stamps from the set in Early Espresso Ink.
Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.
