My Stamp Vault: SNEAK PEEK- Splendid Thoughts Sending Hugs

Hello stampers,

This past Saturday Stampin' Up! held it's first all-day stamping event & demos who attended got the chance to pre-order the suite that they would use from the new mini catalog. We were able to make 5 projects, so far I've gotten 3 done not entirely sure I will make the bag but we'll see. The one thing I love about this suite is the DSP that is included, it's embossed foil on one side & like cardstock on the other, the embossed foil is absolutely beautiful, especially the Pool Party color. You'll be able to see a little bit of it in each of the cards we made from that day.

The 1st card I'll be sharing is probably my favorite we made but all were really nice. We started off with a Basic White Thick Cardstock base followed by a layer of Calypso Coral Cardstock that was embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder & was lightly brushed with the Craft White Ink with the Sponge Daubers you could also use the Blending Brushes if you prefer. Next, we stamped from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set & Memento Black Ink onto Soft Sea Foam & Petal Pink Cardstock then cut out using the SplendidStem Dies the stamped images & a few other dies using Basic White Cardstock. We then cut out a 1/2 moon from the die set using the non-foil side of the Splendid Day DSP. The sentiment was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink then fussy cut (I've never cut a sentiment down like this & was surprised it was easier than I thought it would be. I'm NOT really a fussy cut type of gal! )Once I got all my dies going where I wanted them to go I adhered them to the embossed layer using Multipurpose Glue & the sentiment was adhered using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I also really like the Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding Ribbon & I was surprised I made a 1/2 decent bow after wrapping it around the embossed layer. For my final touch, I added Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels.
