Hello stampers,
I hope you all had a great 4th, I mainly stayed inside where it was cool, watched tv & made a few cards. About 2 weeks ago I happened to see a post from Julie at The Chirpy Cardmaker of Quilts (her video on the card) that featured a dog & cat quilt block. I finally got around to making my own cards & I can see myself making several more using different colors & DSP, but I thought I'd share my first try at the cards with you.
Are you team cat or team dog? While I like both, my cats wouldn't forgive me if I didn't say I was team cat. LOL! What is great about these quilt blocks is the sky is the limit with whatever color of DSP you use, I chose to use the Earthen Elegance DSP for both the dog & cat, along with Pebbled Path & Pecan Pie Cardstocks, which I attached to a layer of Basic White Cardstock then ran everything through using the Cane Weave (cat) & retired Hammered Metal (dog) 3D Embossing folders. These were then layered on top of Basic Black & Boho Blue Cardstocks. For the card bases I used Basic White Cardstock then layered with 2023-23 In Color & Neutrals DSP. For the sentiment, I used the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set with Pebbled Path & Pecan Pie Inks on Basic White Cardstock then punched out with the Double Oval Punch, also with Basic Black & Boho Blue Cardstocks for the scalloped portion, Both the quilt block & sentiments were then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a few Classic Matte Dots for the eyes & Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the collars to finish the cards.
