Hello stampers,
It's the 1st Monday of the month & that brings another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who share different ideas made with the featured stamp set. This week that stamp set is Rays Of Light.
I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out what I could make that would make this background stamp the featured part of the card. I actually made 2 cards because I wasn't totally sure on my first attempt, so I thought I'd let y'all be the judge. LOL! I started this card by stamping the Ray Of Light Stamp Set onto Basic White Cardstock using Crushed Curry Ink, then added Daffodil Delight Ink over it using a Blending Brush, making sure that it was darker around the sun, this was then die-cut using the Cornerside Corners Dies. I enlarged the sun using a die-cut of Crushed Curry Cardstock along with Stylish Shapes Dies, which I popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals. After trying to figure out where to go from there, I decided to stamp a Daffodil Delight Cardstock base with the background stamp & Crushed Curry Ink, then lined up the die-cut focal piece to match the base. Because this stamp doesn't have any sentiments to it I decided to use the Sending Smiles Stamp Set as it has a sunshine sentiment to it. I stamped both with Crushed Curry Ink onto Basic White Cardstock, the Sending was then die-cut using the Sending Dies & I used the Paper Trimmer to cut down the other sentiment & used the Banners Pick A Punch to cut the ends. I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the sending die-cut & used Multipurpose Glue for the strip.
