Stamp Review Crew- Sweet Citrus

Hello stampers,

It's the 3rd Monday of the month & that brings another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who share different ideas made with the featured stamp set. This week that stamp set is Sweet Citrus.

I hope everybody who was affected by Hurricane Hilary faired well. As I prepare this post, I'm still waiting to see the effect it will have on my small desert town, my fingers are crossed that all will be ok in the morning. On to my card!

I decided to use the triple-time technique, it's an oldie but goodie. What you do is use 3 different sized of cardstock, I used Basic White & it's easiest if you attach them by a glue dot or 2 taking a bit of the tackiness off (all this is for is to keep the paper from moving while you stamp.) I stamped the peel of the lemons using Crushed Curry Ink, then added the middle using Daffodil Delight Ink, although as I'm looking at the card they look the same color. *UGH!* I also added a few leaves using Old Olive Ink. I carefully removed the 2 middle pieces to not tear the cardstock, then layered them with Basic Black Cardstock. I used a sentiment from the set (I stamped this first so I knew where to place the lemons) with Memento Black Ink. Once the Basic Black Cardstock layer goes on then you line up & if you use 1/8 or 1/4 border it should cover those spots that were close to the upper layer & didn't stamp well on the lower one.
