This weekend VC Rocks is hosting its first blog hop of this season. YAY! So today, you get two posts. For this hop, we are "Celebrating the OLD" so we can use any retired or retiring set, color, paper or embellishments. Which is a win-win for me, because I have lots of retired things in my
So I really thought this set & a few others would make it into the catalog because they had matching framelits, it was a given. Well, that was the old way of thinking! I didn't buy Four Feathers right away, in fact, I think I waited until I saw it in the Occasions catalog after seeing so many wonderful cards made with it, so today is actually the first time I've used it. SIGH!
I started with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock which will be retiring in about 2 weeks, boo! Next, I used a layer of Whisper White Card Stock, which I stamped with all 5 of the outgoing In Colors using different stamps from Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set for a background effect. Don't worry this set is still in the catalog, I just needed a background & this worked. For the feathers, I again used each of the outgoing In Colors using the retiring Four Feathers Stamp Set, then cut them out using the retiring Feather Framelits in the Big Shot. Finally, I added the birthday sentiment from a retired set called Wacky Wishes in Baked Brown Sugar Ink & added a bow using Whisper White Twine.
~Enjoy
