BSU092716

Hello stampers,
I can't believe it is already the last week of September, can you? Although I have rather enjoyed opening up all my windows the last few days & turning off the A/C. Fall is in the air, which means lots of apples should be at my local nursery to buy & pumpkin flavored everything. AWWWW!
Well, I actually was on top of things this week & got my challenge done. This week the BSU Challenge is showcasing the Timeless Textures Stamp Set. Now, I thought it was a great thing when it was suggested, but I struggled a bit on showcasing textured stamps that enhance a card, but to me don't shout out the main subject. I ended up with the following card & think I did pretty good. For the base, I used Smoky Slate Card Stock followed by a layer of Flirty Flamingo Card Stock. I'm thinking this Flirty Flamingo color could make it to the top with Sweet Sugarplum as my favorite, even though this is my first time using it. For the stamped piece, I took the flourish from the Timeless Textured Stamp Set, stamped it using Flirty Flamingo Ink, so it kind of looked like a wallpaper sample, next I used another stamp from the set for the border using Smoky Slate Ink, then sponged around the piece. Next, I used the retired SAB stamp set Perfect Pairings for the sentiment, stamped it in Flirty Flamingo Ink then cut it out using the Lots Of Labels Framelits with the Big Shot. For the final touches, I sponged around the sentiment in Smoky Slate Ink, added to Jewel Rhinestones to either side & popped it up on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.
