BSU111418

Hello stampers,
I hope this post finds everyone doing well this week, today was our first day of snow on the ground so I am bundled up inside with my stamps & hot cocoa. I've been having a hard time stamping on a regular basis, but I did manage to get this card finished for today's BSU challenge which was a color challenge of Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Shaded Spruce (or if you are me you somehow change that to Mossy Meadow.) BONUS- add Cajun Craze to the mix. Now I didn't get the bonus in there my brain could only see the 1st 3 colors, oh I guess that would be 2 colors now wouldn't it.
For the card, I started with a Cherry Cobbler Cardstock base followed by a layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock which I stamped using Crumb Cake Ink with the Buffalo Check Background. Of course, I love using that stamp as a plaid so I used Light Cherry Cobbler Blends & Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write to create the plaid look. Next, I used Crumb Cake Ink to stamp a sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set on Very Vanilla Cardstock then cut it out using the Big Shot & the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I then pulled out the First Frost Stamp Set & stamped 2 of the big roses using Cherry Cobbler Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, then used the Big Shot again this time with the Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut the roses out & the greenery with scraps of Mossy Meadow Cardstock. Before assembling the card, I added Burlap Ribbon to the background layer, then popped the sentiment & roses/greenery with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Card Measurements

  • Cherry Cobbler base- 5.5"x8.5"
  • Very Vanilla layer- 4.25"x5.25"

  •      Don't forget to head on over to Carol's blog HERE and then to Stace's blog HERE. To see what both did for this week's challenge. I'm sure both will be fantastic. Hope you try this challenge out too! We have a new Facebook group if you want to join us and show us what you came up with HERE.
