In Color Herringbone/Chevron Hello

Hello stampers,
So Monday was a really bad weather day! We had lots of wind & by mid-day, it was testing our electricity which was either flickering on/off or going out altogether. It finally went out around dinner & needless to say we were in bed probably by 8 with nothing to do, which was ok with me since the winds kicked up a nice migraine for me. Anyway, I didn't get a post done for yesterday because of all that, so I'm sharing it today. Do you keep the leftover scraps when you cut down your cardstock for layers? I do to a point, more so the white or vanilla as they make nice sentiment pieces. Here is a card I made with the outgoing In Colors.
I started this card with a layer of Basic White Cardstock, then took 1/2" strips of the 5 outgoing In Colors, started making my design, now if you look online you will see many ways people have done this with different patterns. After gluing down all the strips with the Multipurpose Glue I went around the Basic White piece to cut off the edges. I then adhered this layer to a Just Jade Cardstock base. For the sentiment, I used Basic White Cardstock, cut it out using the Layering Circles Dies, then stamped using the soon to be retiring Sunny Sentiments Stamp Set with Just Jade Ink, then popped the circle up using Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish the card, I used Rhinestone Basic Jewels around the sentiment.
