I had hoped to join a blog hop today but I just didn't get my card done in time. BOO for me! But I'll still share it with all of you! March Paper Pumpkin is a great kit, even though it took a while to get it, I really like it.
This month's kit had enough to make 9 cards of 3 different designs. The cards below follow the kit instructions.
But what happens when there is a mishap with an ink pad that flies out of your hand & lands on the card you almost had finished? Well, it creates a perfect opportunity to make an alternative card. I usually make an alternative card(s) with the stamp sets that come with the kits but I couldn't just waste this beautiful background if I could help it. I took the original card & made a frame using the Stitched Rectangle Dies & placing 1 die inside of the other. The framed part I adhered to the Basic White Cardstock base with Multipurpose Glue. The inside part of the frame I stamped the birds from the On The Horizon Stamp Set directly onto the background & then stamped the sentiment from the same set using a Basic White Cardstock scrap, both stamped images were done using Misty Moonlight Ink. Once I was done I then added Stampin' Dimensionals to this piece to pop it up from inside the frame. Didn't get this month's Paper Pumpkin? No worries you can also use the New Horizons DSP in the mini catalog to achieve the same look. I LOVE this DSP!
