Rhino Ready - It's Your Day

Hello stampers,

Does inspiration hit you at odd times? It usually hits me as I'm closing my eyes & I always promise myself I'll remember it when I wake up but never do. But today, as I was scrolling through Facebook which I don't seem to do a lot these days, but anyway I saw a reel from I believe it was My Favorite Things that had me thinking that I could do a card like it & this time I actually remembered it. LOL!

I don't make a lot of shaped cards, in fact. My 1st attempt was on the smallish side, using the Rhino Ready Bundle with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I was thinking I could make it & then back it with a card front. Well, because of the way the card was made this wouldn't work as I had imagined in my head.

I searched through my collection of retired die cuts and found a larger circle die that measured almost four inches in diameter. This worked much better than my first attempt. I used Basic Thick White Cardstock for both circles to make them sturdier. To create the grass, I used the Rhino Ready stamp set with Old Olive Ink, stamped off once, and layered it onto the bottom of one circle. Using Blending Brushes with Old Olive and Balmy Blue Ink Pads, I added a touch of color to the card to avoid it appearing too plain. Next, I used the Rhino Ready Dies to cut out the tree and rhino using Old Olive, Early Espresso, and Basic White Cardstocks. I also used a Blending Brush to give the tree cover a slightly darker shade with Old Olive Ink. After that, I colored the rhino with Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Combo Pack. Finally, I added a sentiment from the set using Memento Black Ink.

To put this card together, on the back circle I added a score line to the top of the circle & snipped a small part of the bottom which helps it stand a bit better. I added another sentiment from the set before attaching the 2 circles together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue just above the score line.

I added this additional picture of both of my creations just to show the size difference a bit better.
