Sea Turtle - Just A Note

Hello stampers,

I played around a bit with a new set called Sea Turtle. I used a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches #600 as my guide.

I started with a layer of Basic White Cardstock that I had stamped using the bubbles stamp from the set with Balmy Blue Ink, stamped off once. I went in with a Blending Brush & Balmy Blue Ink afterward to give it a bit more color than just stark white. I used a small strip of the retired Waves Of The Ocean DSP, then used the Happy Labels Stamp Set to add the sentiment just under the paper using Night Of Navy Ink. For the turtle, I used Balmy Blue & Night Of Navy Inks, if you aren't aware this is a two-step set which means for the solid image you would flip it over so what is usually attached to the block is the inked part, clean & then stamp again using the detailed side. This is so much easier than when we had wood sets, LOL! I used the retired Layering Circles Dies (can also use punches if you have those) to die-cut a circle out of Basic White Cardstock, then added a bit of Balmy Blue Ink with a Blending Brush like I did with the background. This was then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals, before attaching to a Night Of Navy Cardstock base & adding a few white sequins from Sequins Trio.

Paper Measurements-

  • Night Of Navy Cardstock:
    • Base - 4 1/4 x 11
  • Basic White Cardstock:
    • Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
    • Layer 2 1/4 x 2 1/4
  • Waves Of The Ocean DSP:
    • Layer - 3 3/4 x 1
