Hello stampers,
I really needed an idea for today's card & I found a tutorial on Connie Stewart's blog for a mosaic tile card, so I tried it out. After I finished the card, I thought to myself that I made a patriotic Christmas card without even realizing it. Now, when my hubby was still on active duty I did tend to lean towards the patriotic theme or even red & gold for the Marine Corps with a lot of my Christmas cards that I sent to family.
I chose to use a piece of Beary Christmas DSP for this technique along with Night of Navy & Very Vanilla Cardstock. The strips are really easy to make but you can always follow Connie's video on her blog. I used the Real Red ribbon in the Red Ribbon & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack. For the sentiment, I used the Merriest Trees Stamp Set with Very Vanilla Cardstock & Night Of Navy Ink, then used the Double Oval Punch to punch out the sentiment piece & the Night Of Navy Cardstock backing, then used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment on the card. I finished the card by using Rhinestone Basic Jewels & coloring them with the Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends Combo Pack. This was a fun card to make & allowed me to use some of my DSP, but you can also stamp & cut using anything you have.
