VC Rocks Blog Hop 2014 #3

Hello stampers,
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. This weekend VC Rocks group is having its 3rd blog hop of the season, the theme is Rockin' Your Creativity with Fancy Folds or 3D items. Head over to the main blog to see who all has done a project for this blog HERE.
I was inspired to do a certain box, but when I went to the website to get instructions I got sidetracked & ended up doing 2 other projects. I may do the other box later, along with several other ideas I have bookmarked. I really want to thank Sam Donald who also happens to be a UK SU! demonstrator for some wonderful tutorials. Check out her blog HERE.
The first little box, is an unusual little thing,  it looks more of an origami project except with SU! designer paper. Sam is calling it the Pretty Petal Pot. Both projects use the same DSP which happens to use retired paper & the envelope punch board. Remember you can use any DSP that you have in your possession, just make sure it is double sided.

Isn't this just the cutest little pot you've seen. Fill it with little candies or maybe even put it on your desk to store paper clips or something like that. The only thing I didn't really do that Sam did was decorate the little petals, one because I didn't really think of what stamp sets would go with this before using the paper that just popped out at me.
The next project reminds me of the old gable boxes SU! used to sell, except this is in a smaller scale. Sam calls this box the Upsized Open Basket box.
I think either of these could be used as little favor boxes. As you can see I made the above box more for a wedding. I hope you enjoy these projects, remember to stop by the VC blog to find out what other projects our members have in store for you. Also, don't forget to show Sam some love as well!

~Enjoy

  2. Love them! Always looking for new ideas for treat containers to make for my red hat grouos. Pinned this to try them out later to see if easy enough to do multiples of (12-30, depending on which grouo or if doing both). TFS!

    1. Cynthia, I would say the 2nd box would be easy enough to make that many, not too sure about the pot.
