SFF 080715

Hello stampers,
Happy Frenzy Friday y'all! I hope your week has gone well & you're ready to stamp the weekend away. I've been stressing a bit this week trying to figure out ideas for the swaps I want to do, except I'm having a hard time either with the right embellishments or the card turning out the way I want it to. So I took a little break to do today's card & it took me a whopping 30 minutes if that to do from the thought in my head until the card was finished & I all I could think is WHY????
Today's card is a preview of everything new (all except the colors of course). Let's start with the set I chose, which I just happened to get yesterday from the Holiday Pre-Order, drum roll please..... it is called Joyful Season. If you like cardinals, you'll end up with this set, I kicked myself for not getting the last cardinal set we had, but I like this one SOOOOO much better. Why you ask? I'll tell you, I don't have to color it in & it is a two-step set. YAY! It goes along with a lot of the sets in the new big catalog of being watercolorish. (is that even a word? It is today!)
For the base of the card, I chose Real Red Card Stock then added a strip of Early Espresso Card Stock to the bottom half of the card, I also stamped the outer part of the branch onto it using Early Espresso Ink. That is where the similarity of the sketch ends, because I think I switched everything else around. For the stamped image I stamped the branch first in Early Espresso Ink, added the berries to it in Real Red Ink, then continued onto the cardinal which I stamped the lined stamp & around the beak in Memento Black Ink & the inside of the cardinal & beak in Real Red Ink. Yes there are 4 stamps for the cardinal itself if you  to make it like I did, but you don't have to use all 4. After finishing that part I sponged the top & bottom part of the piece with Early Espresso Ink, then added a new ribbon found in the Holiday mini called Real Red 1/8" Striped Ribbon to both the sides before adhering it to the card. For the finishing touch, I stamped one of the sentiments from the card in Early Espresso Ink, next I used the Big Shot & the new Tags & Labels Framelits to die cut it then followed all this up with some Real Red sponging around the die cut & popped it onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

This week's sketch was created by Carol Read. Hop on over to the SFF blog & check out what the other team members did. Better yet, make your own card based on the sketch below & add your link to this week's challenge. Happy sketching & enjoy your weekend!
